You’ve got to REALLY know your music to play THIS game … these are not necessarily the “hits” as we know them … but if you’re into musical challenges, give it a shot
Kent Kotal (Forgotten Hits Newsletter)
So, Kent thinks Name That Tune is too difficult? Well, I’m not sure about that. OK, I do have my moments, but last weeks offerings were fairly straightforward, weren’t they? At least, the following players got one or more of the clips from the last edition correct:
Alan Novich, Trish and Todd, Renfield, Mike (daddyo), Elvisaaron, Andy, Debi, and Mike (mscho) – WTG to you all!
I was of course looking for Men Without Hats – Safety Dance and Patsy Cline – I Fall To Pieces
The table:
24 points: Alan Novich
21 points: Andy, Trish & Todd
18 points: Elvisaaron
14 points: Dan, Mike (daddyo)
13 points: Mike (mscho)
4 points: Ellie, Lynda, Duncanw, Renfield
3 points: Debi
This weeks offerings are also not so difficult, at least in my eyes
The second is Mr. Hucknall, simply red, doing shine. This guy is great, and especially great live. Now to the first one, to someone who unfortunately is not so great live any longer (I saw him last year) but was great at one time, and a former Broadway singer, Marvin Lee Aday, aka Meat Loaf, doing the Jim Steinman wonder, Paradise By The Dashboard Light, joined by Ellen Foley (Night Court) on record, altho Karla DeVito (Mrs. Robby Benson) did the video. To these old ears, Bat Out Of Hell remains one of the best ten records ever done in pop music (thank you Todd Rundgren !)
It certainly was a masterpiece Alan!
Hi Dave First song is “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” by Meatloaf. Second song is “Shine” by Simply Red. Dan
meatloaf – paradise by the dashboard light
1. Paradise By The Dashboard Light – Meat Loaf (and Karla DeVito)
2. Shine – Simply Red (didn’t chart here or there)
Let’s see…easy first one….paradise by the dashboard lights by meatloaf and number 2….shine by simply red?
1. Meatloaf and perhaps Karla DaVito–Paradise By The Dashboard LIght
2. Man, sounds like Fine Young Cannibals, but not exactly. I just can’t dredge this one out of the memory banks.
Hey Mike! Good answer, but I believe it was Ellen Foley who sang with Meatloaf – at least on the LP
